Welcome back to the last month of the Summer Style Sioree! Over the past few months, I’ve been teaming up with some amazing bloggers to provide monthly inspirations based off some some classic style icons. Today is our last post and is inspired by the late and great James Dean. As you all know, the hubby and I have been house hunting and I’ve kind of been obsessing over dreamy wrap around front porches. When I started doing a little bit of research on the stylish James Dean, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the stunning farmhouse that he grew up in. I don’t know about you, but it’s a home I wouldn’t mind calling my own! Isn’t it just beautiful!?? After drooling over his stunning childhood home, it got me yearning to view some more gorgeous farmhouse inspirations. What about you? Yes? Ok cool! Here we go… :: source :: …

Alrighty now let’s see what my lovely co-hosts have been up to this week!

I’ve been in the process of incorporating navy into our master bedroom and love how its been turning out so far. I began with my navy ikat DIY pillow covers, and my next step was to update my bedding. When Crane & Canopy approached me a few weeks ago, I was so excited I couldn’t contain myself. I had been seeing their beautiful bedding across the blogosphere and drooled over just about all of their designs. My most recent favorite was their navy blue border duvet set and knew it would pair perfectly with the rest of my design. I was so happy when I got my order in the mail because the blues matched exactly with my existing navy pillows! I had also been wanting to include some white into the room and this duvet set did just that. To give you a little bit of background, Crane & Canopy is…

Excited to be back again with another Design Worth Doing episode! Today I’m talking all about how to create a DIY succulent garden that will survive those hot Summer months. Typically, I tend to avoid any sort of gardening during the intense Texas heat, but succulents are low maintenance and will survive our hot Summer. I also paired my succulents with some colorful cacti to give the arrangement some diversity. Cacti are also extremely low maintenance and are the perfect pair for my succulent garden. If you’re wondering, I found my tin planters at Garden Ridge, but I’m sure you can find similar pieces at places like HomeGoods, Marshall’s, Ross, etc. The soil I used was just some standard potting soil and the succulents and cacti can be found at Home Depot, Lowes or even Central Market. The past few months have been a whirlwind to say the least. We re-signed our lease for our little rental last January, I partnered with Fort Worth Texas Magazine for a weekly video series with The Blissful Bee, I just recently changed jobs (now working with that very same magazine as an Audience Development Manager… *ah hem* thank you blog for making super awesome connections), found out I was invited to the Better Homes and Gardens Blogger Event this Fall and booked my very first trip to NEW YORK CITY (still not believing its real), and over all of those months, I’ve been dying to get out of our rental and into our semi forever home. I didn’t want to re-sign our lease back in January (not the slightest actually), but it’s something we just had to do. My hubby was transitioning back into Real Estate and we knew we needed…

Alrighty now let’s see what my lovely co-hosts have been up to this week!

I’m sure most of y’all have already heard of Hattan Home – they carry all sorts of stylish items from home decor to jewelry, but one of my favorites from their shop is this chic Capiz Lotus Votive. As soon as I laid eyes on it, I KNEW it would be the perfect pairing piece for my vintage brass cat figurine to style on my coffee table. With some fresh flowers, and a few of my favorite Restoration Hardware catalogs, my arrangement was complete! They are also offering 15% off from now until August 15th, so make sure to head on over to grab your deal! Just use the coupon code VACAY15 and you’re good to go:) My brass  cat figurine is from a local antique mall, necklace is from Prima Donna, my lotus votive is Hattan Home and my wicker basket/tray is from either Home Goods or Marshall’s (can’t quite remember which one).…
