As some of you may (or may not) know, last year I sold my 1950’s traditional ranch house. I recently moved into a temporary loft space until I find my next dream home. And let me just tell you, I’ve been absolutely loving it so far!

Going from a traditional style home to an urban loft isn’t always the easiest transition when it comes to furniture. I wanted to give this space the look and feel it deserved, so I teamed up with Hayneedle to makeover my new digs. I’m guest posting over on their blog today, so to see the full makeover and links to my styleboard, make sure to check out my post here.

For those of you sticking around a bit, below is the design board I created for the space. I call it “The Rustic Modern Mix.”

With this design I wanted to challenge myself. I wanted to curate something far more modern than I ever would have dreamed of in the past. It was a bit scary, and out of my comfort zone in the beginning, but by combining rustic materials with modern, clean lines, the look came together just as I hoped. In fact, it fell into place even better than expected! What do you think?

Thank you!! I’m still house hunting, so I’m actually not sure. Probably not until the Spring since Real Estate is still in its off-season.

Thanks!! The floor lamp is from Hayneedle and the table lamp is from Target from a few months back. The decor varies from Hayneedle to Target to Marshalls etc. Ya know – the normal places I shop!
