A few months ago I Instagramed a sneak peek of my new Ikea couch. We had been wanting a new couch for a while and eventually just couldn’t wait any longer. Along with the new couch came an entire living room facelift. Since the new sectional was so much longer than our old sofa, I had to do some rearranging to make the room appear larger.

You might remember our old living room had two large book shelves planking our back window. I liked them for a while, but they just weren’t going to work with the new couch. I replaced those with two small scale console tables that I recently posted about [here] and placed two leaning mirrors on top. I’m so happy I made this simple change because it has made the space feel SO much larger!

Welcome to my new living room – Come on in!

See how I transformed my bamboo console tables [here].

Like my aztec pillows? They are now sold out, but you can find similar options [here] on H&M’s website.

Love the new couch! We want a new one for the basement so badly. Let me know how this one holds up for you since we have been looking at the Ikea sectionals as well. It certainly looks great!

  2. Very pretty! Isn’t it funny how when you put a new piece of furniture in a room, you end up changing the room! I nearly always end up doing that. Love your coffee table, very lovely!

  3. Saw this post on Pinterest…and then again @ MRL catch as catch can…and FOLLOWED IT HERE FROM THERE!
I’m looking at furniture placements lately… this room is beautiful!
Not exactly the shape room I’m looking at…but definitely… like the flow and furniture arrangement.
    That red chair… POPS!

  6. LOVE the cart coffee table! (Just watching an episode of American Pickers and they were talking about carts for tables – literally this minute when I saw your link on 52 Mantels!). Your living room is beautiful! Julia

  7. could you please share the source of the curtains? love them!

  8. I love the wall color in your living room! I have a gray Ikea couch I love and am trying to find the right paint for the walls. I love the thought of grey, but because of lighting it tends to make the room look to cold/sterile. The color you use is so warm and inviting but still modern! Can you share the color you used?

Thanks Michelle! I wish I knew the paint color… The wall color was already painted this beautiful color when we moved in! In person the color is a light to medium beige with more of a grey base rather than a yellow base. I hope that kind of helps!
