Woah – it’s been almost a month since my little man, Hudson, was brought into this world. And if you haven’t noticed, I’ve taken maternity leave not only from my job, but also from the blog as well.

It’s been so refreshing to just sit back and enjoy my time with him. I’ll be going back to work after my maternity leave is up, so every single second with him is so special to me. I’m trying to soak it all in while I can!

My oh my. He’s literally the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!  #HudsonBrooks @chadhorany

He’s been such a blessing to us – Chad is the most amazing dad and I couldn’t be more proud of all 3 of us. I had no idea what it was going to be like to be a mom. I’m the youngest of my 3 siblings and never really had to take care of anyone other than myself (and my cats). So many people tell you that once you have kids you change in such a great way — and I have to admit, I completely get it! They are so right.

I’m also so proud of my husband. Literally from the moment Hudson was born, Chad has stepped up to the plate. I was in labor for 15 hours and actually got very sick right after Hudson was born. I was so out of it and shaking for hours after delivery and wasn’t able to even hold Hudson. Chad was such a natural and took care of Hudson while I recovered from labor. Ever since, he’s continued to be the best father possible. I’m so blessed.

My little dinosaur 💙💙 #HudsonBrooks

And last but not least, I’m so proud of my little Hudson. He’s been an over achiever ever since he was in the womb! He was born at almost 9 pounds and has continued to gain weight and be a happy and healthy baby boy. He’s also just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Don’t you agree??

I’ve got the coolest breakfast date this morning 😎😎 #HudsonBrooks

Aside from googling over my beautiful new son this past month, Chad and I have also been working on our new house. It’s so funny — we’re still living in the loft, but I swear we’re at the other house more these days! I think it’s safe to say we’re a bit excited to start renovations and MOVE IN.

Speaking of moving in, we’ve got a LOT of work to do before we’re actually able to move in. Not only are we changing up the floor plan a ton, but we’re also completely tearing out the kitchen — well, the entire back half of the house actually.  We’ve literally gone through hundreds of different design concepts, so I’m excited to finally settle on one and get going. We plan on choosing a contractor this week and start work asap.

As we continue to work on the house I will be posting all about it here on the blog, but also on Instagram using the hashtag #RyanPlaceReno. Don’t miss out on all the fun!
