Lately I’ve been finding myself visiting Starbucks a little TOO much! I haven’t been in the mood for normal coffee, so I’ve been venturing over to Starbucks and spending about $4 (if not more) per cup of coffee… I seriously hate spending that kind of cash of coffee, but I just love my yummy lattes and frappuccinos! It’s so hard to resist them!
The other day I decided I was going to avoid the ever so tempting Starbucks and attempt to make my own version instead. I mean, imitation is the highest form of flattery, right? Ok, so since I didn’t really know what I was doing, I kind of just mixed a bunch of things together that sounded like it would make a good drink. And guess what?? IT DID! woop woop!
I started off with a cup of coffee. Duh. Then I added my cup of milk. Because, yes, when I drink coffee it’s about half milk and half coffee. Then I added a packet of sweet-n-low and a tablespoon (maybe a bit more) of my caramel sauce. For the caramel, I simply used the generic stuff from the squeeze bottle that you would normally pour over ice cream. The caramel and sweet-n-low are the ingredients that really make this drink nice and sweet. This recipe is super easy and super quick. Simply pour your drink over ice, and you’re all set! And just a little FYI – You might want to let the coffee sit in the freezer for a minute or two to cool it down. Then the ice won’t melt when you’re pouring your frapp into the glass:)

Your recipe sounds great – although I wonder how much the coffee gets diluted with the milk? If you want a serious punch of coffee, try my recipe for cold pressing the coffee – you’ll end up with a stronger coffee flavor and it keeps in the fridge for up to 2 weeks!

Yes, a lot of the coffee gets diluted, but I can’t have a lot of caffeine because I get shaky, so it actually works out pretty well! And if you drink the entire drink, you still get your normal cup of coffee in;) Thanks for sharing your link! Heading over to check it out now:):)
Yum! I tried this a few days ago and have been addicted to it! I had to add a bit more caramel to my drink since my coffee was so strong. Thanks for posting!
