For those who know me, it’s no secret that I have an addiction to lamps and a love for change. For those two reasons, I am completely in love with a new DIY lamp kit company called I Like That Lamp. A few weeks ago I was contacted to try a new quick and easy lamp shade kit and I simply couldn’t resist. I worked with the 12×12 inch kit which fit perfectly on one of my existing lamps in my office.  My lamp base is from Target, the shade kit is from and the fabric I used is the Premier Prints Towers Sherbert/Gray Twill Fabric from

The kit was SO much easier to put together than I was anticipating. It comes with literally everything you need and the sticky backed paper is just genius! I did use a few extra clips during the gluing process, but that was only so I could finish the project quicker. For the full tutorial, click here!

Ok and now for all the pretty pictures! I am so in love with how my shade turned out. I literally have NO patterned lamp shades in my home, so this bold graphic print was such a fun little addition to our office.

  2. Hi Amy,

Love the lamps! Also, I’m not sure if you mentioned this already but where did you get your curtains?

  4. Hi! Love the lamp…but really, really in love with the curtains I see in the background. Could you tell me where you got those and price if you remember. Thanks! 🙂

  5. Amy,

Thank you for the heads up on this one. We’ve been making bottle lamps for awhile now and finding the right lamp shade can sometimes feel like a treasure hunt. From now on if we have something in mind we’ll just make it ourselves.
