Lately I’ve been revamping our home office. Just little projects, really. I’ve hung some drapes, re-arranged some decor, and re-covered my cork board! You might remember how it looks from my makeover post, here.
I actually really loved the fabric I had already covered it with. So…you might be wondering why I decided to re-cover it?? Well, when I bought my new drapes, the patterns just didn’t work together. I finally decided to re-cover the cork board even though I loved the fabric. It actually worked out in the end, because I LOVE my new fabric even better!
I think the graphic pattern is my favorite part! I found the fabric online at fabric.com on major clearance. It was originally intended for a headboard makeover, but I’m really happy it was used for this project instead.
Since I already covered the board a few months ago, I first had to rip that off. After the old fabric was removed, I was ready to start!
Materials:
Cork Board
Hot Glue/Hot Glue Gun (I use medium temp so I don’t burn my fingers!)
Fabric
Tutorial:
1. First lay down your fabric, then lay down your cork board over the fabric.
2. Give yourself about 3 inches surrounding the board, and cut the fabric to shape.
3. Glue the fabric to the board ( start with the center points of each side making sure the fabric is tight)
4. Once each side is tacked down, flip the board to make sure the pattern and fabric looks correct.
5. Finish gluing the remaining areas and corners.
** Make sure to iron the fabric before starting!

The new fabric is pretty. 🙂 We built chairs with that center pattern inside, so I was drawn to the photo.

How did you put it on the wall I made 4 amazing squares and none of these tutorials show how to put them on the wall. Your finished project is beautiful
Thanks Kim! I cut through some of the fabric on the back of the cork board to reveal the hanging hardware. Hope this helps!
